Effective August 4, 2026. This notice describes actual practice on this site rather than a general template, and it is written to be readable by the person it concerns.

Who is responsible

Fareveil House LLC, a Georgia limited liability company, publishes Fareveil and decides how reader information on this site is handled. It is the controller for that information.

There is no data protection officer, because the company is one person and appointing one to itself would be theatre. Requests go to the privacy address above and are handled by the publisher.

Very little, and only when you choose to send it.

Hosting records

The host that serves these pages keeps ordinary technical records of requests, including network addresses, for security and to keep the site running. Those records are the host's and are not built into reader profiles here.

That is the complete list for every page except one. There is no analytics package on this site, no advertising pixel, no tag manager, no social embed, no comment system and no behavioural profile of any reader.

What does not reach this publication

The flight search, described in full on its own page, is the exception, and it works the other way round.

The panel that starts it sits on the front page and belongs to this site: its fields, its code and the airport list behind its suggestions are all served from this domain, and typing in it sends nothing anywhere. Pressing the search button is the moment something happens. Your browser then goes to avia.fareveil.com, a subdomain answered by Travelpayouts, the booking service behind the search, carrying the route, the dates, the cabin and the number of travellers. From that point Travelpayouts receives the search along with the technical details any web request carries, such as network address, browser and language, sets its own storage in your browser, and handles all of it under its own privacy policy rather than this one.

This publication does not receive your searches, does not see which results you were shown and does not learn whether you booked anything. What arrives here is aggregate commission reporting: that bookings occurred, not who made them.

If you never press that button, nothing is loaded from and nothing is sent to any outside company at all.

Why each item is held

• To answer you. A note cannot be replied to without the address it came from.
• To send what you asked for. The newsletter address exists only for the newsletter.
• To keep the site standing. Hosting records exist to serve pages and to deal with abuse.
• To meet a legal duty, in the rare case where a record must be kept or produced.

Nothing here is used for advertising, for scoring readers, for training any model, or for building a profile of anyone.

How long things are kept

Notes to the desk

Kept while the exchange is live, then up to 12 months in case it comes back up, then deleted.

Corrections

Kept longer, as part of the record of what changed on a page and when, with the sender's contact details stripped out.

Newsletter addresses

Kept until you leave the list or ask for removal, then deleted rather than suppressed.

Hosting records

Kept on the host's ordinary short cycle, measured in weeks.

Who else sees it

• The email provider that carries messages to and from the desk.
• The form relay that turns the contact form into an email.
• The newsletter sender, once a letter is actually sent.
• The host that serves these pages.
• Travelpayouts, but only for a search a reader chooses to send, and only from the moment it is sent, as described above.

Each of those handles the information for the purpose it exists for and nothing else. Reader information is never sold, rented, bartered or handed over for anybody's marketing. There is no arrangement of any kind under which a third party may use this site's readers as an audience.

Information may be disclosed if the law requires it, if it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim, or to deal with fraud or abuse against the site.

Do not sell or share

Fareveil House LLC does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in California and in the other US state privacy laws. That has been true since the site launched, and there is no opt out link because there is no sale or sharing to opt out of.

If that ever changes, this notice will change first, and the change will be announced on this page with a new effective date.

Global Privacy Control

The site carries no advertising or analytics trackers, so a Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to disable here. The signal is respected in the sense that there is nothing running for it to stop. Travelpayouts handles such signals on its own pages under its own policy.

Your rights

Several American states now give readers a set of enforceable rights over their own information, and this publication applies them to everybody rather than checking which state a message came from. In practice you can ask what is held, ask for it in a readable form, have an error fixed, have the whole thing erased, restrict what it is used for, and be treated exactly the same afterwards. California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana each write these down slightly differently, and readers elsewhere have similar entitlements.

To use any of them, write to steward@fareveil.com and say what you want. A request is answered within 45 days, usually much sooner, and the only verification asked for is enough to be confident the request comes from the person concerned, ordinarily replying from the address already on file. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission.

There is no charge, and no request has ever been refused for being inconvenient.

Readers under thirteen

Nothing here is aimed at children, and no part of the site asks a reader's age or invites anyone under thirteen to send anything. Should a message nonetheless arrive from a child, it is deleted as soon as that becomes apparent. A parent or guardian who suspects one was sent can have it removed by writing to steward@fareveil.com.

Security

Pages are served over HTTPS. Reader messages live in an ordinary mailbox protected by a strong unique password and two step verification. Access is limited to the publisher, because there is nobody else. Old messages are deleted on the schedule above rather than kept indefinitely, which is the most effective security measure available to an operation this size.

No system is perfect, and nobody honest claims otherwise. If you discover a weakness in this site, reporting it to steward@fareveil.com will be met with thanks rather than lawyers.

Which country your message sits in

The publisher and every service it relies on are based in the United States, so that is where a message lands and stays. Readers writing from Europe, the United Kingdom or anywhere else should know that the protections applying to it are American ones rather than the rules at home, and that the difference is real rather than formal. Nothing is transferred onward for any other purpose.

Changes to this notice

When practice changes, this page changes with it, and the effective date at the top moves. Material changes, meaning anything that alters what is collected or who receives it, are described in a short line at the top of this page for at least sixty days after the change.
